pow wow magic

For our anniversary this year G and I packed up the kids and headed to the fairgrounds for a Standing Bear pow wow. It just seemed like the perfect thing to do. There were a lot of animal bones, shells and feathers, some of which I was strangely tempted to take home; coyote knuckles and fox teeth especially. And there were teepees and drums and singing and dancing, and the crowning of the new pow wow princess. All in all, a good way to mark a special day.

  2. Lovely bones everywhere. The boys loved that teepee. Maybe we should make one for the back yard.

  3. Wonderful pictures! There was a traveling pow-wow that used to come to my college and I loved it- all the dancing and fringe and feathers, such fun!
